It was, however, a very expensive 2x4.

okay... now, who the heck is madmel2705? He aint on our list.

Winning bid: $6120 ..... there was a recent thread with a link to a 'back-then-dollars' calculator. I'm too lazy to look it up. I wonder how 6,120 dollars in 2007 compares to a new 500 in '71?

It sure is pretty, anyway.

Happy trails.

It's an exact copy of mine! Mine and my brother's looked just like that, once we got them out of the crates and put them together.

About a year later, they looked a little more crooked than that one, but they sure taught us a lot about racing.   :)

So who is MadMel? He's here in the UK by the looks of it.

$6k = £3k which is a good price for a bike like that.

£3.5k - £4k for a concourse bike (maybe the ding in the tank was the $1000 difference.)

Once he's had it shipped it'll be about the right price.

Dunno ,Steve Shipping £750 Customs duty 10 % VAT 17.5% on value AND Shipping then transport and road tax/registration.
Sounds a bit dear to me, but then i always was a cheapskate!

Bryan, I was offered an early gold bike like that (without the dent but a few more miles). Cherished for years by a senior member of the UK Honda Owners Club.

He wanted £3800 - I didn't have the money.

So where do you find a better one??

What does it cost to build one as nice.??

Would a restored one be as original??

Its only Original once..

I would rather have an  nearly mint original with a nick or two with a story than a restored one..

There is a more restored or restorable ones out there, than nice originals..

You dont pay too much.. but you may have bought early...

In another 5 yrs way more people would have bought it at that price..
