The Dresda swingarm is rectangular steel, and fairly light.

Well for me, not so difficult because my rim was already a disc rim. What rim will you run?

Still looking into that.  In moments of insanity I have considered a dirtbike hub as I can use a spoked rim, the hard part is the spacing is much different.  Being as I haven't invested any money into the rear disc (other than the rearset with MC) I am still looking at the options.  Part of the spoked/unspoked is I will need to get a matching front wheel.  My wheels need new spokes and rims so new wheels aren't too far out of the question.

I think you have lots of possibilities. I think the dirt bike idea is a good start. Can you find any other bikes with spoke rears with a disc? I think you can learn lots about making it fit and getting the spacing right by reading my posts. If you need I can provide more pics and elaborate better about how I measured things up to get the spacing right. You are welcome to PM me if needed to talk over your ideas and such. Later!

Hey guys!

I know it's been a while but I've been remodeling my house...

Well I've been riding it and tuning in the carbs. I noticed I can do 70mph in 3rd gear at 7k rpm. I decided to go down 1 tooth on the front and up one tooth on the back. A brand new 520 x-ring chain, 16 tooth front sprocket and and aluminum rear sprocket are on the way!

Here's a pic...

Did you know that early CBX calipers will bolt right up to that front end and give you a 5 mm bigger piston then the 750F's or the GL1000's?

I like big Brakes  ;D

Looks really cool and I thought I would throw in the tip.

This is good to know. My biggest complaint about the current setup is that I can't find sintered (copper) brake pads which I really like. Maybe I could find them for the CBX no?

Thanks! I have gotten lots of compliments and it was very easy to do. I plan on doing the Hondaman bushing upgrade and powdercoating it when I do the frame...

I have Kevlar pads...so couldn't comment on the Sintered ones....

I'm really looking for a twin caliper front end for my CB550. I happen to have a set of '06 Yamaha R1 6-piston calipers sitting around. I'd be willing to trade them for someone that's got a twin disc front end that will work on my 550.

New sprockets and chain.

Old: 530 non o-ring
 17 front
36 rear

New: 520 x-ring
16 front
37 aluminum rear

About like 4 teeth up in back. Much lighter and cooler looking than old set up.

Wow, looks like a  Totally different bike with those wheels!! Very interesting "spin" on things, no pun intended :P :D

BTW. What kind of tires are those you  got there? Makes it look even more mean..
Cafe Racing is mainly a matter of taste. It is an atavistic mentality, a peculiar mix of low style, high speed, pure dumbness, and overweening commitment to the Cafe Life and all its dangerous pleasures. Right-on, 520's are the way to go on these. For a few bucks more you can get the rear aluminum sprockets hard anodized.

Yep, I was in a hurry and forgot to ask. I had it done on my Z1000 sprocket and it still only lasted 4500 miles. Also I'm not sure this will be my final gear combo. Once my motor combo is done and my gear combo is done I'll probably fininsh with hard anodized or a sprocket like on my Z. It's aluminum center with steel teeth. I'm not sure if this is avail for a CB900 hub but probably...

Recently had Hondaman did his magic on my swingarm. Custom fit bronze bushings. Top knotch work and premo service.

Unfortunatly the bike is still down for engine rebuild and cosmetic prep. Will update when progress made.
