Hey guys. New to the forum, but not too new to bikes in general.
I've been riding off and on since about the age of 12 (like many others, I started in the dirt). My current stable list is: 1977 Kawasaki KH400, 1983 Honda XL600, a project 1975 Kawasaki H2 (rolling frame... sorta), and I have a Honda CB550, it is either a '74, or a '76...I haven't cross-referenced the VIN yet. I plan on rolling this thing into a pretty neat little cafe' bike... I haven't worked on it much lately because of school, work, and distance issues (stored it at my parents' place, and only recently moved back to the area...still in college though). Hoping to learn a lot from this place, and chat with like minded folk. Seems like a good place to be.
If there is anyone out there with particular knowledge about the 550 models, I'd like a chance to chat more with you. Particularly if you happen to be a bit of a bike-hack... I've never strengthened a stock frame, but I plan to put some gussets on the 550...I've read that the single backbones are prone to flexing in hard corners.
I'm also a member of Thumpertalk, Adventurerider, Kawasakitriplesworldwide, and occasionally post on the Tonup forums as well if any of you guys belong to multiple motorcyle chat boards. User name is the same on all of those.
Good times all!
