Sorry it took so long, but she runs!! I picked her up from my buddies at WBS Fabrication in Dublin, Ohio early Saturday morning. They fabed me a wiring harness and fine tuned the carbs over the last few weeks. It got down to crunch time and with between getting a new job and our son I just did not have the time to finish the project for Mid-Ohio. The whole reason I wanted to get her done is they were having a cafe show at Vintage Days.
So I entered EXCESS into the show and did not even place in the top three, guess my cafe was not period correct. After that ended and some rain came through I had to get on the road for home (I had my 15 year class reunion). Coming out of the infield and going over the bridge my bike ran out of gas (probably should have checked that). After pushing it half way up the hill a few of my buddies from Columbus Vinmoto helped me by asking for gas. One cool guys gave me gas and another gave me starter fluid to get her going again. Just at that time Andy 750 and Hopterfixer came up, wish I would have had more time to hang out and bs with you guys. With only a bit of gas, I decided to make a run for the trailer. After I got her loaded I came looking for you guys but had to get on the road.
Without further adieu her is my 1973 Honda CB 750/836 cafe project named EXCESS:

So far Paul from WBS put on 17 shake down miles, I added a bit over 40 miles today and she is running fairly good. Believe it or not she is more comfortable than my GS 1000. Not to mention faster! We have new slow jets on order, but the solution to that problem is the just run the damn thing wide open! DAMN she pulls like a freight train, even though Paul said I could thump on here, I may give her a bit more time until I pin it. Have a bit of clutch chatter, and a oil tank problem that will be sorted out at a later date. Looks good, runs like a rapped APE and handles great! Hopterfixer took a video of the bike at mid-ohio for the sound of the pipes, hopefully he will post it as I have not figured out how to do that yet... Sounds mean......
Thanks for all the encouragement from everyone! Special thanks goes out to: Benjie's Cafe Racer, WBS Fabrication, Ohio Cafe Racer, TTR 400 (Kevin) and especially my wife for putting up with me and not questioning the cost of the project........
