Excellent stuff, you should be proud. I would really like to see the fork brace. I did a search on Telefix and related but couldn't come up with anything. Please let us see it when you get it.   :)

OK, so the bike is so close to being done.  The guys at WBS are fine tuning the engine for me and it looks like she will hopefully be ready for the Jap show on Sunday at Mid-Ohio.  Can not say enough about Paul and Mark at WBS, these guys have done an awesome job with the engine and wiring harness!

All I can say is the bike sounds BAAD ASSS!  I will make sure and post pictures this weekend and work on a video.  The fork brace came in from Telefix in Germany and looks good, will update the pics after this weekend.......

Hopefully I will get to meet quite a few of you with weekend....

Sorry it took so long, but she runs!!  I picked her up from my buddies at WBS Fabrication in Dublin, Ohio early Saturday morning.  They fabed me a wiring harness and fine tuned the carbs over the last few weeks.  It got down to crunch time and with between getting a new job and our son I just did not have the time to finish the project for Mid-Ohio.  The whole reason I wanted to get her done is they were having a cafe show at Vintage Days.

So I entered EXCESS into the show and did not even place in the top three, guess my cafe was not period correct.  After that ended and some rain came through I had to get on the road for home (I had my 15 year class reunion).  Coming out of the infield and going over the bridge my bike ran out of gas (probably should have checked that).  After pushing it half way up the hill a few of my buddies from Columbus Vinmoto helped me by asking for gas.  One cool guys gave me gas and another gave me starter fluid to get her going again.  Just at that time Andy 750 and Hopterfixer came up, wish I would have had more time to hang out and bs with you guys.  With only a bit of gas, I decided to make a run for the trailer.  After I got her loaded I came looking for you guys but had to get on the road.

Without further adieu her is my 1973 Honda CB 750/836 cafe project named EXCESS:

TTR 400 Headlight Ears

Telefix Fork Brace (expensive but cool, and a bolt on!)

Carbs

X-Pipe Mount

Front Brake

Little Eddie

Wifee

So far Paul from WBS put on 17 shake down miles, I added a bit over 40 miles today and she is running fairly good.  Believe it or not she is more comfortable than my GS 1000.  Not to mention faster!  We have new slow jets on order, but the solution to that problem is the just run the damn thing wide open!  DAMN she pulls like a freight train, even though Paul said I could thump on here, I may give her a bit more time until I pin it.  Have a bit of clutch chatter, and a oil tank problem that will be sorted out at a later date.  Looks good, runs like a rapped APE and handles great!  Hopterfixer took a video of the bike at mid-ohio for the sound of the pipes, hopefully he will post it as I have not figured out how to do that yet...  Sounds mean......

Thanks for all the encouragement from everyone!  Special thanks goes out to:  Benjie's Cafe Racer, WBS Fabrication, Ohio Cafe Racer, TTR 400 (Kevin) and especially my wife for putting up with me and not questioning the cost of the project........

Beautiful result! Really wonder how they can judge a "Cafe Racer" class. So many "lines" that can be drawn and where are they drawn. Judges succumb to their personal prejudices?

Anyway, Would you share your source for the Telefix Fork Brace?

I found the brace out of Germany, Telefix.  It took 3 1/2 weeks to get here from Wild Hair Accessories and cost an arm and a leg.  There are 3 American dealers, Spec II and Bob's BMW had piss poor service.  Irfan at Wild Hair Accessories hooked me up the same day, good stuff.....  http://www.whaccessories.com/

Man, I haven't checked in with this thread in a while!!

At the risk of being greedy you can't have those pipes, that beautiful ride, and not have a vdo clip.  ;D

If I contacted Wild Hair do ya think they'd have a fork brace for my '74 550? I noticed you retained the gaiters.

Your vision for the paint scheme was brilliant, nice work!

Ok you greedy people, here is a quick clip of the animal.  All you get is idle and two throttle blips, but it is sweet music.
Enjoy!

Looks beautiful..

Also looks like you have a ghost lurking in that photo of your front tire on page 9, right before the carb pic... ;)

Ecosse, pretty sure they have a model for that, but there are some Italian models that would work also...

Still does not capture the true sound.  I will try and drag the wife out to hold the camera behind....

Of course, I don't know if your's is more for show or not..
