Hi Everyone thank you for the kind words about my build. I am pretty stoked to finally put the finishing touches on her the next couple of weeks. The guys that rebuilt my engine are fabing a custom wiring harness as we speak an then are going to do the final tune on the engine/carbs...
Terry, I will let you know about the GS chopper build, I am going to try and reuse as many as the original pieces as possible...
Spikey, I would be very honored if this bike won BOTM awards from this group, especially with all the killer bikes that have won in before. I am digging how the bike is turning out, if I had to do all over I would change a few things but for the most part I am happy.. The biggest thing is I wish I had more time...
No good pics of the old lady on the bike, she has not really road for the last two years. Once she found out she was pregnant she put up the keys to her Harley. In the last two years my little brother and I are the only ones to fire her up for any good rides. I did recently get her out on her bike for a B-day ride!
I did find a brace out of Germany, Telefix. It is going to take a few weeks to get here and cost an arm and a leg, but I will let you guys know how it turns out. They have 3 American dealers, Spec II and Bob's BMW had piss poor service. Irfan at Wild Hair Customs hooked me up the same day, good stuff.....
My plan is to wrap everything up and have her finished by Vintage Days so I can enter her in the cafe show on Saturday. I doubt I am going to be able to be there the entire weekend, but am looking forward to hanging out a bit. Getting ready to switch jobs so not quite sure what is going to be expected in the new position.....
Masonaryman, not heard of the event you are speaking of. Are you talking about the rally they have at the factory? I actually no longer live in Dayton, moved to Columbus almost two years. I still work in Dayton until the July 11th, but then to Columbus. Can not wait to start saving on gas and get back 2 hours and 20 minutes of my time every day!
