Missing Honda Twins!
« on: November 12, 2007, 06:27:26 PM »
In the meantime, I'm rebuilding the forks on my '72 CB 350 twin and I'd like to retire the steel tube covers. Has any one substituted standard dust seals, or even fork gaiters? Tube diameter is 33mm,inner slider diameter is 47.5mm, outer slider diameter is 54.5 mm. Does anyone know of another bike that uses this size of dust seal?

CB360 dust covers will work with the 72 CB350 forks.

Later,
Greg

The problem is that , like the F, the forks are not chromed all the way up.  The upper pieces which also hold the headlight cover where the chrome stops.  You might get away with just removing the lower section, but if you were thinking of removing both and using an alternative headlight mount, you'll have to get fork tubes that are chromed all the way up.
Go metric, every inch of the way!

You could also adapt Offfoad truck shock boots in place of the gaiters. This is a trick that i found on either this forum or another bike forum.

I used universal fork gaiters from Emgo. Look good!
