I don't get why some people here get so upset about rising prices on our beautiful bikes.
Most of us have spent a lot of time and money restoring, maintaining and even customizing our bikes, yet we've suffered from horribly low resale values for many years, while prices on other marques have risen. Why do some people here have a problem with our investment coming back to us? Don't you guys even like your Hondas? Don't you see why our Hondas are WORTH more than similar vintage HDs or old, unreliable, British junk (yes, I've owned some)?
It is about time that these bikes were recognized for the beautiful, comfortable, practical, rideable, well designed, reliable pieces of history that they are. These bikes changed the motorcycling world in a positive way. They raised the bar on design and reliability for all of the other manufacturers.
They are fun to ride, without being pretentious. You can wear a full-face helmet without worrying about "looking cool". You don't need to look like a "boy racer" either. You can ride a Honda anywhere without people thinking that you are a jerk or that you are "trying too hard". You can even ride your Honda in a suit on your way to a nice dinner, or to work, without looking or feeling ridiculous. Now that they are classics, you can do all that with style, too.
