man, i ate lunch while viewing this, and it almost made me puke.  that guy must be pretty good, or have really good insurance.

That's good riding on a GL. The guy behind was working pertty good to keep him in camera range too.  8)

Did anyone watch that one about the avarage HD rider. ??? IMO the HD rider was stupid, ;D but some of the comments blamed the people in the car. ::)

A "Goldie" is a BSA- short for Goldstar.

WOW Im impressed. Never expected to see a Winger thrown around like that. I thought they were much lower to the earth and couldnt handle corners that way....  8)

I thought the same. Actually, a Goldstar is indeed a sport bike, so I was confused by the thread title....

I've ridden a Goldwing and they are great bikes. Have a low center of gravity, and even when the wheelbase is long, dragging the knee does a lot to help keeping the bike up and increasing the ground clearance. It would take some -long- practice for me to ride that way on that bike though....

Ha ha, yeah, I've heard the 1800 Goldwings handle quite well with the new improved frame, I pulled a guy out from under his GW1500 a few years ago when he threw it away, lucky for him he'd landed in some soft muddy dirt, so he was ok, but his two wheeled behemoth was looking a bit sad. He'd been chasing a couple of sports bikes when he became all twisted up coming into a 15 MPH corner at about 50. Hmnnnn, it's about 80 deg F outside right now, I might have to go for a ride...............  ;D

Have a second look at this.  A couple of times the guy following gets a bit off line and nearly runs out of road (pavement)

this is on the same stretch of road, there was a lot of negative comments originally about the car/van driver, to me it was purely bad riding of a Harley.

Yellow Wolf is apparently a regular rider up on the gap.  He normally is the one filming the runs, though.

Proves that he can easily ride with a sportbike...  I wonder how often people hire him to film their run on their shiny new CBR1000RR and laugh when they see his yellow behemoth.  Only to be outridden by him, of course  ;D

I agree 100%.  There are a lot of stupid people that try to "tame" the dragon with sub par riding skills on overweight, under-maneuverable bikes.

I was riding for 3 years before I even thought about riding on the Dragon.  And even then I took it easy (at least for the first pass...  The second pass on the way back I was scraping pegs and exhausts on my XS850  ;D)

What I meant to say was, to me, the lead rider didn't seem to be working hard at all, I thought he looked real smooth.  Picked good lines every time though, at that speed, he must have run that road before,had some racing experience, or had slept with the Honda for the last 30 years.
