a question of warranty
« on: November 23, 2007, 04:27:31 PM »
I have just finished mowing the lawns and my motormower has developed a severe case of piston slap. this mower has been in my possesion for 12 years and has been lovingly unmaintained.
now since this machine is Australian built with a suzuki 2 stroke, I was wondering if Terry was the person to talk to regarding rectifying said piston unhappiness

I feel your pain! Two years ago I was given a 12.5hp riding mower for free.
Replaced the starter, tune up, blades and oil change and I'm mowing for less that $150 US.
Season two, oil change and plugs. Season three it drops a valve, sucks it into the cylinder and
pokes two holes right through the head.  >:( Luckily I found an online parts vendor here in the States
with the head I needed on sale for $105!

Sometimes things actually do work out.

Slap a Briggs and Stratton 6hp on that bad boy and it will last forever.

As far as Terry goes he's busy slapping his own piston  ;D
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

There is a reason they are called  "briggs is crappin". I have never seen a briggs run good for more than a couple years. Again, honda seems to have one of the best engines around.
