cb350k
« on: December 05, 2007, 03:54:39 AM »
I must say I have a great fondness for my old cb350k twin.   In it's way it was a really great bike with a superb engine.  The only problem with it is that it is just a bit too small.  Why didn't Honda make a 500 or 650 version of this truly brilliant bike?   Has anyone experienced the 350k and a bike which has the same charm but is 500cc or more and would be available second hand at a sensible price?

How about this one. I think it is a 74 CB500T.

I don't think it was Honda, but the market.

Last winter's project was a 75 500t barn find. 8000 miles but had not run since to mid-80s. Probably had 100 hours in Q-tip clean refurb. Sold in 30 minutes at AMA Museum VJMC meet in June to a guy who had one new and had looked for the right one for 2 years. Even the mutts have their followers.

Very nice! Is that brown seat stock color? Really complements the rest of the bike.

Bob: Yes, that is the original seat. The tank was brown, the seat was brown, and in 75 even the gauge faces were brown. The SOHC4s had taken all the DOHC twin sales so Honda decided to make a "retro bike" to go the British twin route. Pretty, but it didn't sell because the longer stroke took the 450's spirit and it only cost $100 less than a 550-4.
