We have a Deeptone on one of Nirvana's 750F2s

It looks great (black though not chrome) and sounds hooligan!

I assume from the price that this supplier is in the UK.

Here she is:

I agree with your opinion of the MAC exhausts. You do get what you pay for.
The Marshall Exhausts sound nice. There's a guy on YouTube from Holland who has one on his 550.

Here's one of a couple of distributors stateside.... they go by LASER as well and seem to run around $450. in US dollars.

Make sure you order the correct model as the silencer mountings are different, sounds good but frontpipes, like all other aftermarket pipes, will "Blue" fairly quickly.
Aslso be sure to order and fit new gaskets and nip them up after a week or two

Well compared to other alternatives (Benji's Peashooters), it's not THAT bad.
I'm wide open for suggestions though!
I would love a Kerker, but haven't had any luck finding them.

I think he means to make sure that they are torqued down after a few weeks or so.

Not sure if  you heard this guy's 77 550 with the Marshall Exhaust so here it is...

It looks as if the Brits have the choice of a racing baffle as well as a street legal one.
I've only seen the street legal one here stateside so far and presumably this is what the guy's running on the tube. It sounds pretty mellow but a nice deep Honda SOHC/4 sound especially for a 550. ;D

That Marshall racing baffle probably sounds similar to some of the cafe racers we've heard here.
Like the 550 at Benjies. Lots of clatter from each individual cylinder but if you could deal with noise I'm sure the performance is well worth the decibels !

I'd like to find out what type of horsepower numbers one would realize between the two.

The same company Laser makes a slip on muffler for the 550 as well but from what Ive seen it's about $220.

Too bad that Kerker doesnt make headers/exhaust for the 550's any longer.

Someone commented that $450. is alot to pay for an exhaust which it is. Part of that is the weak dollar for In pound sterling it's only 199. !  :D

You see the guys on OCC fab up all of their exhausts from steel tubing using the pipe bender. Makes me wonder what a good bike shop would charge to fab one up ala a Kerker for our CB550's especially if you could use the stock header as a template for the tube lengths ?

It might be another option/consideration.

Anyone know of any shops that would ?

Regards

I just put this one on my K1, I bought it new at a swap meet and I think it's a 1970's era "race" pipe as it's a tad loud, but much quieter than my unbaffled drag pipes.

It's made in Japan and really well made, and very light. There's no brand name on the pipe, or on the box though? Pity, I'd like another one! Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)
