Maybe Mike was not there, but I wish I was!

I went every year from 1980 thru 1988, plus last year. Looked foward to going like it was Christmas and the last day of school.
Totally anarchy on the roads going flat-out on the fastest, most beautiful mountain  roads imaginable..... Freddie Spencer in the Superbike race lapping the entire field in the pouring rain, crashing, then getting back up and RE-LAPPING everybody AGAIN (except Eddie Lawson, who won).....  Strawberry covered waffles w/ whipped cream for breakfast on Fathers Day.... Going up (and down) Mount Washington's dirt road.... Hitting top-end speed about 20 times a day.... Kangamangus Highway, 26 miles long and doing it in under 20 minutes riding 2 up....Waking-up to the sounds of motorcycles racing on Rt 11 in Alton Bay....Swearing you'll never do Weirs Beach again, and doing it again w/ the boyz...Bar-B-Q's on Alton Bay...The parking lot at the track after the races....2 lobsters for $9.99 at Sandy Point....Getting lost on back roads on purpose...Never getting passed the entire weekend....Running 12 pounds of boost on the TURBO

I remember Andy (through the beer haze) ;). Loudon (Bryar Motosport Park)was really fun back then. Wooden bleachers, show us your ti** etc, etc. The event is crap now. I have to go to Ohio or Virginia to see real racing. ::)

A buddy of mine has been down to Virginia....nice track and not crowded. Maybe this coming summer I'll do it. I rode out to Ohio in 06 for Superbike races.

Well I went to Woodstock I on a bike back then. I am told I had a good time. I am still puzzled at how I wound up in Penn. Perhaps it was an alien abduction? Oh well, whatever it was it is lost in the mists of time. Mike I think I will be up in Somerville a lot starting in Feb.

Yea Bryar was great, the riders loved the old track too. Nowadays the facility is fine, it's the track layout that sucks, no wonder the AMA pulled out.

AHH the good old days, the smell of Castrol R, gravel parking lots with fist sized stone, outhouses running over by Sunday noon, the angels camping along 106, the garbage barrels overflowing with beer cans, and because of that every wannabe racer blasting away after the event half drunk with front wheel pointed skyward, plus the teargas and riots at the Weirs. Would I have missed all that fun......never!
