'75 750 F exhaust studs
« on: November 28, 2007, 09:46:15 AM »
How would one remove the studs from the head on a '75 CB750 F model? I bought a Mac (no muffler or baffles - so loud!) exhaust awhile back, and had to use those ugly things along with the beaten, chewed-up bolts. When I pull the exhaust to get at my oil pan, I'd like to use the nice black ones that came with my system.

Thanks guys!

Spray them with PB Blaster, Liquid Wrench, etc. Let it sit for a bit so it will soak in. Tap the ends with a hammer slightly to break the seal. Double nut the threads. Attach Vise Grips to the shaft. Turn the double nuts and Vise Grips at the same time. Hopefully they will break loose and not break. Don't overdo it at this point and snap one.
