Seen them for sale but never on a bike.

They are a bit "bling" for me...

Look in old chopper mags, they were all the rage along w/ paisley psychodelic paint and beatle haircuts

I think they were called cool fins.

 I know a guy that runs them on his bike, they look ok, But I would not run them.

Why.. because it is there..
Same reason people buy tin plated covers for their FLH or their Wing.. like Rotor covers.. UGGGHHHHh.

I dont like covers that are made for them too lazy to pull apart and chrome or polish.. just looks cheap.. Also hate taking off stuff with no other function..just to be able to work on stuff..

If you chrome it, and it makes the bike shiny-er, someone will buy it!!

  I saw these in the old J.C Whitney catalogs back in the 70's and 80's. They had them for a wide variety of bikes, but IIRC, the picture was usually a CB750. IMO they look like cheaply made junk.
