Ok sounds good, I will take measurements of the length I need and make one up tomorrow at work, and give that a try.
Thanks for the help!

Ok,
so I have the battery - cable going directly to the engine mount and am still getting the overcharge situation. Now that my bike idles normal again, I checked the voltage at the battery and am getting 13.64v average at idle. About 3k rpm the voltage raises up to around 17.6volts again. How would I go about trouble shooting the dohc rectifier/regulator? I have searched but found limited info on it.
