That ain't the half of it. John, the owner of the car and shop, bracket races that car. It actually will go faster but he has it detune so that he can find a class to compete in. Two years ago the car ran in the low 8's! but there wasn't enough competition locally. His time was something like 8.3 @ 176 MPH.

Over lots of years, I've watched ETs come way on down for all the classes. Haven't kept up with drag racing in several years now, so I'm no sure what the average times and speeds are now. To give you an idea how long it's been, Joe Amato, Connie Kalitta's son (can't remember his name), Kenny Bernstein, Gene Snow (probably was close to retirement), Eddie Hill, Shirley "Cha Cha" Muldowney Just naming some rail drivers from back in time. Gene Snow and Shirley Muldowney drove Funny Cars before that though!
