73 cb750 oil res relocation
« on: May 07, 2008, 06:25:05 AM »
Hey guys,

I am going crazy.  I have a cb750 that I wanted then wanted to part out then wanted then wanted to sell now I am wanting again.

does anyone else feel this way?

well anyway before I sell it i want to get it running. it was partially torn apart when I got it

1st question.  when I put the plug wires are the plugs numbers set 1,2,3,4 from left to right as i am sitting on the bike or are they different?  the wires are numbered. so I do not not know how to hook them up.  quick help!

2nd do people relocate their oil reservoirs on these 750s?  If so where to?  any pictures?  anyone made a custom oil res?  pics?

thanks guys

Dont matter which way you number it as 1 & 4 fire together as do 2 & 3.
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

But just so some arse doesn't come up and say "why do you have #4 wire on #1" you are correct, 1-4 from the left as you sit on the bike.

If you're looking to open up the area under the seat by moving the tank this is a lot easier done on some of the smaller cc bikes as all the oil is held in the engine and the battery and electrics just need to be moved. You can move the battery and electrics under the seat hump if you get a fiberglass seat, then find/make a barrel shaped oil tank and mount it down low where the old tank/battery used to be. Some guy here was modifying a modern swing arm to act as the oil tank, don't know if he finished that with good results yet or not.
Give me..a frame to build a bike on, and my imagination will build upon that frame

cool,

ya I figured that it was in order.  On the oil tank thing I just dont think I have ever seen a 750 with out it hanging on the side.  I believe it holds a quart and half or around a liter in a half?  not sure there.  maybe that is my next question on this site.

thanks for the info
