Oh, but the x-c/backcountry skiing must be great!  A SAR team's dream.  (We get our best business right after storms like this.)  ;D

man, when I read the title, I suddenly started humming CCR's "looking out my back door"....  You can listen to it here:  http://www.mp3searchmonster.com/?searchtext=looking+out+my+back+door&Submit=Search#

Now it will be stuck in my head!!!

Never expected to see snow when I opened your post.

We've been having 80 degree weather down here, and last night it dropped to mid 30's...  Louisiana only sees snow about once every 10 years.  Beautiful!!

mick 750F.. you are exempt from riding in the snow for a few days!!

Hope when I went to LA for a couple weeks  we had frost.. about 12 years ago..

I spent 1/2 the time in shorts freezing.. bound and determined to be wearing shorts in DEC.!!.. did have some nice days tho..
Ran into a guy in Alexandria with an antique store about 8 or 9 at night.. he had a few cool balloon bikes.. sold tho to a Whizzer collecter in IL.. I was looking in the window and he rolled up to check if he left some heat on so the pipes did not freeze!!

It started to turn to rain soon after I posted the pic. I just got back in from 2 hours of shoveling out a couple of neighbors, my shop and my truck. So I'm soaking wet and it doesn't look all that pretty anymore. My dog is happier than I am...

Hope...That song was running through my head as I typed in the subject.  :)  I remember the winter I spent in Austin, TX many years ago. When I woke up one morning there was an inch of snow on the ground. The city was in total chaos. There were major multiple car pile-ups on the highways but the city streets were deserted. Being a New Englander who loves driving in the snow I couldn't believe my good fortune. I had the entire city to myself! So off I went driving around like a madman in my trusty old '68 Dodge pick-up. Fishtailing, sliding, spinning, parking lot donuts...I was having a blast.  After about two hours I spotted another car approaching an intersection that I just pulled into. As they pulled in I noticed their license plate and I couldn't believe it. Another car from Massachusetts. We talked for about 10 minutes about how great the snow was and how lucky we were that we were the only ones on the road. Then off we went on our separate ways...

Medic...No x/country skiing for me these days though I do a lot of tromping around in the woods with my dog. The area I live in was a glacial dumping ground so the woods are pretty much boulder fields with trees and brush. Not that great for skiing. Visually stunning though...

Hey Mick you big woose get on that bike and ride!  ;D Ok, ok so maybe tomorrow....now that you have shovelled...I also spent 2.5 hrs today shovelling and building motorcycle snowmen (yes hes riding a bike  ;)). On Thursday it was so much eaiser with the light fluffy snow rather than this heavy wet snow....yeuch!

On the good news front I won an auction today for a K0/K1 exhaust pipe (upper left) to replace the one with the hole...just need to the upper right now and Ill be good! I also won a set of CB1100F shocks so now I have to figure out a way to pay for both these items AND buy the girlfriend a nice Xmas present..... 8)

cheers
Andy

Hey Andy...Any pics of your motorcycle snowman? Good news on the pipe and aren't those shocks the xmas present for May Lee? After all she'll be getting a much nicer ride with those on your bike.  ;)

Yeah, hope the houseis okay. Kinda looks like what we got in Arkansas one Jan about 4 or 5 yrs ago. Lost a tree that feel partially against the house. Didn't hurt the house though. Couldn't cut the tree up until we got power back a few days later, my chain saw is electric! ::) ;D Lost some good size tree limbs too! Kinda eerie hearing trees & tree limbs cracking and falling all around us! :-\

yeah, banged up pretty good. I went into the attic at one point looking for holes and found 2. Big enough I reached through the roof up to my elbow to move a couple of limbs. Found 2 more the same size on the lower level over the living room and mother nature also gave me a 2 by 3 foot skylight over the back patio with the tree branch in one of those pix. The good thing was last ice storm was bad enough to sag my garage roof with the weight, so this time it snapped 2 of my 2 by 10 rafters. Yippy, new roof for me. The whole house gets reroofed actually. But on the positive; the bike and puppies are fine. I mean the wife, puppies, and scooter are fine.  8) Storms like this were alot more fun when I was a kid. And not a homeowner. At least insurance will take care of all this. Almost forgot, the fish pond received 4 puncures of its own, so I had to drain it and lay in another liner before the snow came. 67 fish this year. Down 2 from last time. The pix could be bigger but I gotta ask BobbyR how its done. Later.....

Ouch! I hate holes in roofs.

Hope your insurance is a good one.
