hello, i've been riding for some time but i'm new to the sohc world.  i picked up a 77cb550k for $200 off craigslist.  of course, dreams of pods, 4 into 1's, clip ons, bigger mains, rearsets, lowered lamps, and new upper tripples dance in my mind.  she runs, barely.  she shoots blue flames every once in a while, also!  scary.

of immediate attention are the carbs.  i believe a float is the problem as gas is running out the overflow.  next, i'll need a 4 into 1 exhaust.  not a big fan of the dual plus the baffles are missing from the right giving me no backpressure hardly.  no cosmetics until i get her running strong.

got the carbs and air box off today, you guys weren't kidding about how big a pita that was.

Looks like you have a heck of a find for $200.  She does run so you shouldn't have too tough of a time reviving her. Good luck and keep us posted!
