76' CB550 Crankcase Disassembly Information
« on: December 04, 2007, 02:10:23 PM »
Hi folks.  I have my bike completely stripped down to the frame, this has gone from a rebuild project to a shelf project as I have a daughter on the come March 25th.  So far I have been gathering information on practically everything I can get my hands on about engines etc. however I heard that cracking the case is a little more involved than loosening screws and pulling them apart with my hands  ;) .  I've searched around in the forum and found specifics on seals and gaskets but nothing to meaty on actually how to and what to look out for.  Remember, this has become a learning project over an extended period of time and not a let's get it done for the spring project.  Does anyone have any links, documents, advise, pictures, comments they would be willing to share? Much appreciated in advance.
