You think you put Respectable Mileage on a SOHC 750?
« on: December 07, 2007, 10:11:03 AM »
I go to admit when I was younger I use to admire the riding that Bob #$%*en used to do. He was the editor of BIKER when it was a newspaper form.

Anyway, he used to put on major mileage covering events for the mag. I remember one yeasr he put on 75,000 miles on his 836cc !!.. It get better though.. more on that later..

If the weather here in Toronto was like sunny California i might put about 15000 to 2000 miles a year.but saddly i average about 3 to 5000 miles in the summer.i'm hoping for a January thaw so i can add to that number. ::)

75,000!!!
Wow....

I ride between 1000 and 2000 miles a month when it's ridable weather.
In a year it's in the neighborhood of 6-10k.
On a '79 650, the last in the line, and the best of the SOHC's  ;D ;D
J/K... no but really....

That's some serious riding. That 200+ miles every day for 365 days. I guess his job really helped, but that is a lot of riding. :o

Basically he got paid to ride

Back in the 70's I was getting about 15-20 K a year and I lived in Canada. And was working a lot of the time..

1000-2000 a year?? Jeez quite often we would do 800- 1000 per weekend 2 or 3 times a month and work 40 hrs a week. In the summer we rarely went anywhere without a sleeping bag on the bikes..

But the Coolest part or remarkable about #$%*ens Ride was...

It was an AMEN rigid frame... try that..
