Motorcycle Safety Program in PA
« on: July 28, 2005, 08:40:18 PM »
All I can say is WOW!  When I sat down in the class I was sure I was wasting my time.  The only thing that I thought I would get out of it was the ability to ride my bike when working on it with out a helmet to aid my poor hearing when diagnosing a problem.
6 people in the class had never ridden a bike!  2 weeks later I am a much better rider and I think I enjoy it just a little more than before!  I now can teach my son & daughter how to ride the CL125s I am fixing the proper way.  When they are 16, they will take this course.  I though I was a safe rider now I AM a safe rider.  If you have not done it, do it.
These wonderful little birds are great flyers, delicious eating, excellent for training your hunting dog, and just fun to shoot,or stuff and keep around the house.  Bobwhites can be put with other types of Quail and have very large penis's.  Quail are very popular with the babes.

i hear cycle deaths in PA are up this year.  i blame themini boom of sport bikes.

but anyway, is this program new?  Nj has something like that and if you take it, you get some $$ deducted off insureance or something.

i was thinking about it...

We train on Honda 250s  I find it funny that that bike viberates the same as my bike at all speeds.  It is a nighthawk and it looks like a cb f model by design.  It sits low and realy scoots for a 250.  It is easier to scrape pegs on a small bike that does not belong to you!

We have a course like this in Washington State, sponsored by the MSF (Motorcycle Safety Foundation). You take this course for 3 days, 1 weeknight in a classroom, 1 full Sunday on the riding course, and a split classroom\course day on Saturday.

Our class was mixed experienced\newbies. My fiancee had never ridden before and took the class with me. I can't say enough good things about it.

Oh yeah, at the end of the course you take a test and if you pass you get your M endorsement on your license.

That is the same prorgram.  You can pick different days to match your schedule.  It seems funny to see the newbies ride as well as you by the end of the course!  I love the cost $0.00.  and yes you have sign up months in advance.

Yeah, we signed up months in advance and forgot about it until the time came. It's not cheap here. I don't remember exactly how much, but it's like 150 per person depending on where you are.

And since we were both newbies, there was the cost of the gear. And since we were in Seattle and there's a 98% chance of rain in December, there was the cold weather\rain gear. It all added up quickly. I don't know if she is going to end up riding or not, but at least if she does she already has gear.
