handlebar grip length
« on: December 07, 2007, 02:34:50 PM »
can someone tell me the length of the original Honda grips on a 400f please. I'm getting some new bars and throttle tube, the original tube appears to have been shortened.

Bump. I beleive the grips are a standard length? I've never heard of a short or long grip. I'll measure my 350F grip if no one else knows.

thanks Matt
I will be getting non-standard grips but would like to use the correct length since I am getting a new throttle tube, and like I said my original setup has been 'modified'

O.k., my throttle grip tube lenght is 142mm from the outside end (tip) to the inside end. That is the total overall length of the tube. The grip, is 125mm long.
From the marks on the tube, there is about 15mm of the tube inside the switch housing which leaves 127mm for the grip and a 2mm margin of error.  ;)

Hope this is what you need,
 Matt.

many thanks for that Matt, a great help, 125mm or 5" grips are what I will need then. The bars and tube are a Christmas Present which is why I ask this question.
