70's CB750 Chopper Pics (Cheesier the better)
« on: December 11, 2007, 04:50:15 PM »
Does any one have or have a site with pics of 70's 750 choppers?
The more wild, cheesy, the better.
I am looking for ideas.

Crazier, weird, paint jobs. Unique acessories, huge rakes. Stuff like that.

I got that 77' 750 and I thought since it's started with the funky seat and apes, why not just take it as far as it can go. Not saying that I will do all of that but, i would be up for making an obnoxious looking bike. It'd be fun

Here was mine.  I sold it this summer to help with the new bike purchase.  Guy put better than 500 miles on it the first 2 weeks.

I think I just threw up in my mouth a little....

anyway here is my straight from the 70's 550 chop:

guy I bought this from built it in 1974 out of a brand new bike and an AEE catalog (it is not one of thier kits though). The only thing he wouldn't part with was the ridge top amen tank. I rode this bike for 2 years before putting her in storage...she is a death trap.

754 - I think what he is looking for is outlandish bikes from way back when. While most MODERN chop builders seem to be into to clean undersated bikes, the 1970's was a different case and there are so many bikes that were just over the top.

I will tell you what I do miss about the 1980's chopper scene (too young for the 1970s)....I miss mural paint jobs of album cover artwork. Twice I have seen Rush album covers transferred into tank airbrush work...even have a buddy with a mountain album on the tank of his 750. Unfortunatly, because I am such a lame ass if I were to do something like that I would pick Sabbath's "We Sold Our Soul for Rock and Roll" album to copy instead of something cool and arty like the starman logo off the back of Rush's 2112, Boston's first album, Cream's Disraeli Gears, or even Iron Maden's tailgunner artwork

Not a chopper person but snapped this at a local show a few years ago - the workmanship was excellent!

If you want a hi-res pic, PM me.

That is the most unbelievable seat I have ever seen.  I don't think anyone can post one better than that.

I'm gonna try.  I got an even uglier one saved somewhere, but peep this bike:

Ok, so it's a DOHC 750, but still.  OMFG!!!

I guess that's what excessive drugs or alcohol can do to a creative mind. I hope they were under some kind of mind altering force that made them do that to those bikes.

You will note from the posting that although the bike is being sold by a Texan it was spawned by a demon in Colorado. We don't do that to bikes here....
