Inspection is pretty easy. Most inspectors have a "if you can ride it there it will pass" attitude.
1.Does not have to have blinkers must work if they are present
2.Only one mirror required
3.Must have a horn. Does not have to be electrical. I threw a sqweaky kids bicycle horn from REI on it for the inspection, removed promptly after.

Go to an independently owned "garage" and they wont give a rats *ss about any of the other stuff.

Yeah I am pretty sure there i no restrictions on exhaust.

Actually Texas code requires us to have a "muffler".  The out is that there is no decibel limit so most inspectors overlook straights or drag pipes.  For the American members the link below is to the AMA's State Laws pages.  Everyone should make themselves aware of their state laws as they pertain to their rides.

I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.
