I am very pleased to post the link to my test firing of my 1970 CB 750.
As posted previously, this was last run in 1991 (best guess) and left under a tarp. The sordid history is hard to piece together, but included a dump (some scuffs on the pipes to confirm that story) and probably some major engine overhaul (serial numbers don't "match").
I cleaned some major, disgusting sludge out of the tank (four separate acid washings still left some debris), rebuilt the petcock and carbs (carbs actually weren't all bad), replaced the fuel lines (with filters), changed the oil and dropped a new battery in. My goal was to see IF it would start, then I could continue on with the rest of the project.
I did NOT (yet) repalce spark plugs. The seat is off at the local upholsterer. I'll post when that comes back, as the place looked great but I don't want to recommend without results, yet.
The movie is a little "blair witch project" because it was shot on my treo phone and it was about 100 degrees with 100 percent humidity in Allentown last night. Once I filled the tank (NO LEAKS!!) I was a little manic and euphoric to hear all cylinders fire. A little tweaking of the idle adjustment screws got the tach down below 1500 rpm. I think the throttle cables are a little tight and will loosen those.
Anyway, enough diarrhea mouth. On with the show. The link is posted on this crummy msn group hosting feature, so don't be thrown off by the link -- I had to create a "dummy" group to be able to post my movie!
