I think I know the answer to this...CB350 content...

But is the headgasket on the 350 twin reusable? As in, if I assembled the engine, torqued down the studs, but didn't run it, can I untorque the studs and still keep the same HG in there? My thinking is that the bolts that hold the head to the cylinders, the ones that are installed after the studs are torqued down will hold everything together. Does this sound about right? That would make sense, as then it would allow a mechanic to do some top end work without replacing the HG. Or am I going out and buying another HG?  :-\

Problem with the head gasket is that you need to remove the camshaft and it is a pain in the CB350, as you have to remove the rockers, rocker shafts etc. You can give it a try by tightening the nuts a little bit more than spec'd. After all, my Sanglas thumper doesn't have a head gasket at all -it was designed that way-.

I don't even need to remove the camshaft. Just have to get at something the rocker box.
