Topic: Good deals on GPS mapping software

I'd like to find the best deal on topo mapping software.
Need ability to upload waypoints, tracks, etc....to my handheld
Garmin Vista. Also would like the program to be able to do
area calculations from the map which I can double check in
the field.

Anyone into this or know?

You may want to check out Delorme Topo USA. I have used their Street Atlas GPS software for years, good stuff.

Delorme Topo USA for my area so I can see the details. I couldn't make out from their info
what scale it goes down too. If 1:24,000 it would be great and sounds like what I'm looking for.

Rock, I don't use Topo, I use Street Atlas. I would send them an email and ask them questions. Or call them, I always found them friendly. They are HQ in a small town in Maine.

Thanks went on the Forum and found some assistance. If Garmin made 1:24000 map set I'd use them.
I've still not heard back from Garmin. DeLorme has already responded. I didn't know DeLorme had their
own GPS unit or I'd have bought from them. As it is I've got the Garmin and I like it just
want a better map set.
