My $100 '75 400F
« on: December 31, 2007, 05:08:56 PM »
Well...  I mentioned this a while back that I picked up a 400F for $100.  To make a long story short, I saw an ad for "old Honda parts" in the Traders' Guide back in July when I went home (PA).  I was only there about 36 hours.  I called this guy on the off chance he'd have a gas tank for my ratty 350F.  Come to find the guy had a complete 1975 CB400F (and a complete CB 125s).  He said since he didn't have a titles for them he just listed them as parts.  I initally declined since I didn't have a way to get it back to Florida.  I called back a minute or so later after I came to my senses.  He even borrowed his neighbors utility trailer and delivered it to my mothers' house.  It was left at my mothers' house and there it sat until now.  Many of my hopes have turned to disappointment.  Look at some of these photos.  The rust doesn't really bother me.  I can find rims and a fender.  I found one of the spark plug threads stripped though and have little compression anywhere else (none on the stripped hole cylinder).  Plugs didn't look that bad.  I guess I should keep it in perspective, I paid $100...

Yeah mate, I can see that you're disappointed, so the best thing that you can do now is just get it out of your life, and send it to me! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I would literally hold the neighbors dog ransom for such a deal. I've been trying to find a 400f like that since I got interested in bikes.

I feign your disappointment with my jealousy!! I like getting them like that! Gives me an instant vision!!! ;) :)
