Couldn't stand it
« on: December 22, 2007, 12:58:19 PM »
I've been building a cabinet in the shop these last few rainy/icy/snowy days.
The Honda had gotten really dusty, cleaned it, waxed it, and rode it with
a bit of ice on the sides of the road. It was nippy but worth it ;D ;D

Good advice Bill, ice and street bikes can be a dangerous mix for whacko southern miscreants :)

I'm going to raise the needles a notch in my CR carbs and take the K1 for a run today, it's overcast and has rained constantly over the last couple of days, (not enough to break the drought, but still good rain) and surprisingly, is actually quite cool.

It's only 64 deg F now, and it won't start to warm up again until Wednesday, (expected top 80 deg F) which is quite unusual for this time of year, but still quite comfy on the bike! Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Slip a 1.75 litre bottle of Makers into that box-o-snow matey, and you've got a deal! ;D

To all you "foreigners" it is 1.75 LITERS not litres. This is Kentucky Whiskey we're talking here, so we have the right to call it like it is. 8) It was bad enough when we switched away from half gallons to those damn 1.75 liters! Same goes for pints and quarts. Each country has their own individual mix of metric/imperial, etc. Makes it real hard to get drunk when you can't remember what size you need !!  ;D  ;D

Well I'd suggest that Kentuckians have the right to call it what they want Jerry, but you being from Colorado, you can probably only boast John Denver music as your main contribution to the US' economy? It's a pity he's dead, as a pilot, he was a great pop singer! ;D

Man, I'm jonesing bigtime here in Boston, but there's 2 feet of snow on the ground and it's looking like I'm going to have to get a dirtbike to get out at all before April. I think I'll wash and wax the woodpile instead.
All best,
Ben

All right ya'll! Thats it for Terry & Ernie! Ernie, you'd better be careful. That Dingo Terry will get you in trouble.

I just live in Colorado and proud of it. Beautiful blue sky day. Think I'll go for a ride. Clean air. Pure water. Boston has 2 feet of snow. We have 2 inches on the plains. The mountains have snow in feet. I'm another transplanted ex-redneck that was born, raised and lived in Kentucky for 48 years. Paducah, Lexington, and Lu A Vull in that order. As babies, when we were teething, our mothers rubbed whiskey on our gums as a pain relief and our dads did shots with what was left over. I even told Terry the secret of how to become THE Makers Mark Ambassador of Australia! He will have a full barrel named after him and all the rights that come with such a fine southern distinction. Now I'll have to work on having him not only named a Duke of Paducah but also a Kentucky Colonel. Once he has this dinction he can forget about the Australian Militia he calls an Army! I'm a southerner by birth by choice by God!!

OK... here's a test;
1)Two guys taking a whiz off a bridge.  The one from Colorado says, "Wow- the water's cold!"
What's the North Carolina boy say?
2) What do you season your black-eyed peas with?
3) What's better than banana pudding and what "makes it"?
Dude- your 8 layers are showing!

Answers to Ernie's quiz

1) The Carolina boy says "Damn, that thing of your's sure is long. Wish I could tell how deep the water is".
2) Pork, specifically Harpers country ham from western Kentucky
3) 1 of 3 things. (1) REAL pork barbeque obtained from Starnes Barbeque in Paducah, KY (2) pecan pie - momma makes it OR (3) Kentucky Fried Chicken by Colonel Sanders or momma. If it weren't for the vanilla wafers on banana pudding it wouldn't be worth a crap

Is North Carolina part of the north or the south?  ::)

Did I pass?  ;D
