1972 Aermachii HD 350SX
« on: December 27, 2007, 06:17:26 PM »
Picked up a 1972 Aermachii HD 350SX for cheap today.  Really nice guy named Ray.  I am sooo  jealous.  Seperate from his houe is a quonset style garage with multiple m/c in a state of fix.  He has a running cb350, a 75 400, that HE got for cheap because the PO didn't/couldn't put the carbs back together.  A late model BMW with thengine removed because it had blown.  The Bmer came with that zeppelin style side rig.  A pan or shovelhead.  a triumph chopper, a triumph bobber(I really liked), a 1962 Triumph T100.  The one with the luggage rack on the tank, and came with a distributor that year.  The T100 is for sale btw.,  he had a valkkrie under cover, a Triumph trike under cover, Motors, parts, frames, etc., and a full shop to do work in.  Machine, weld, everything.  he is retiring in April and moving shop and all to florida.  Of course, we talked bikes for a good half hour when I got there.  Said he was always a Harley man, but likes old bikes, and is looking forward to retirement.

I suppose I should post up pics.  later on.  The SX is a non runner, needs a little help to break the piston loose.  Some rust, to be expected.   I will have to work on it in secret as my hands are full.  But somewhere down the road, I am thinking ahrma.  Good things come to those who see it first.

I've got a 73' SS350 Sprint that is a "roller" No motor, seat's shot & some misc things missing. I've got a deal pending with a fellow over on the hondatwins.com forums, in return for a favor he's going to do for me (concerning a CB350 twin). Those Sprints seem to have a pretty good following. ;)

One of our guys from the Kawasaki triples group brought one of these to Deals Gap last May (our annual 2-stroke meet). I was ammused by the exhaust. It sounded like a twin - a Harley twin! The single cylinder exited into one header and then split into two seperate pipes. I'd never heard anything quite like it before.
