I am putting out this as a feeler. For X-mas, I made my father a coffee table book of all of his old and current cars and motorcycles with a little story on each one of them. I put over 100 hours of work into the layout of the book. Then, I had the book hardcover bound with a dust cover to make it look like a coffee table book. He loved it!

I was thinking that I could do the same for a SOHC4 coffee table book. The book will measure 10x8 and will have a price point around $40. All photos will be in color and the printer puts it together on some very high quality paper.

I would like to feature only SOHC4 bikes. Each bike will be pictured (a few pics of each bike would be great) along with a photo of its owner and a story about the bike. I can dedicate a few pages to each bike if necessary, depending on the story and pictures for that bike.

If I can, I would like to feature a well rounded mix of bikes for the book. The book will be broken down into chapters, each chapter will feature a different model of bike. If you are interested in having your bike and story in the book let me know. Of course, the more books that I have printed, the lower the final price will be.

Art, do you still have the pic of me that was on last years calender. If you don't it's in the gallery some where.
If you do you can use it plus there is a good one of the bike naked and one of it with the fairing with the team stood behind in this thread http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=25400.0 if you can lift them. Let me know and I will send you the story so far.

Well, the Honda CB Fours coffee table book in under way. I began working on it over the past few evenings. If you would like to see your bike(s) in the book let me know. You will need to submit high resolution pics of your bike, you, and a story about your build. email me your stuff aentz@comcast.net

At this moment the book is titled "Honda CB Fours: A Collection of Single Overhead Cam Motorcycles"

Send me the highest res photos your digital camera will take. Do not crop or reduce them in size. I'll take care of that stuff.

I'd like to have the book printed by June. I want to leave time for a bunch of people to get into the book.

I am sure that you can offer a great story or two. Your bike doesn't have to be "show" quality to get into the book. Rust and dents are okay, they help tell a story.

Oh, man....

...I know where every dent, bent, nick came from, even today. Some have matching scars on various portions of my physique (no, I'm NOT sending those in...)!
Maybe I'll send you some "filler" material, like a dent and a story worth reading...or two...

Blurb, a very interesting application. I've used ShutterFly once (OK for small item) and took a look at Kodak's offering as well. OK as well I guess. Just finished sitting through a Blurb Webinar (view their demo actions on-screen and hear the commentary on the phone via an 800 number). Far more design control with Blurb. I didn't think the prices were that bad either.

Yes. Blub has a good program for my idea. The book I made my dad came out really well. Their print quality is EXCELLENT on heavy, semi-gloss type paper. The slip cover is awesome as well. I just purchased the rights to use the Honda font for my cover and title page. It is looking sweet.
