This was a scooter we saw when we were in Ouray.  It was in pretty good shape.  I think I need a side car on my motorcycle.

Ouray brings back fond memories.  I use to ice climb there.

Andy,

I sold most of my ice gear years ago (2003).  The only gear I kept were my crampons, boots, and harness.  I also sold most of my rock climbing gear, cams, nuts, ropes, etc.   Now I only top rope some nearby crags.  I really miss going to the Gunks.  When I lived in the Poconos I would go to the Gunks every weekend.  There was some good ice climbing there as well.

Ya ice climbing is great.  We have been the last 3 years out to the Ice Festival in Ouray.  It is much easier than regular climbing until you get to the mixed climbing then its just weird.  This has been our yearly winter vacation.  Ouray for 3 or 4 days then to the condo in keystone for 3 or 4 days for snowboarding.  I always look forward to this trip.

Are you looking for any type of axe Andy, or do you have a certain one you are looking for?  My buddy owns a gear shop here in town and I can see what he may be able to get some axes for you.

I used to ice climb back in Scotland but havent done it for years - have the boots and crampons but need some axes to get back into it - however money is tight this year (as paying for my Greencard application - Im a legal immigrant  ;)) so not sure I can afford to do it this year...plan was to take a day course up in the White mountains of NH and take it from there. Thanks for the offer of asking your gear shop friend and I may take you up on this but Ill need to wait for for the moment  -just bought a Mammut Stratus hooded jacket (20% off!) so need to save some pennies first...thanks anyway!

cheers

Not a problem andy.   you guys may like these websites then.  They have amazing deals (50%-75% off)  on all kinds of gear.  Ever try Ice Breaker clothing?  It is by far the best clothing you can get for cold weather.  It is made of merino wool from New Zealand and it doesnt stink.  They had a promotion going where you got clothing the longer you wore the piece.  All the employees wore them for a couple weeks straight and they didnt stink.  I got my first shirt when we went to Ouray in 2006 and wore it for 4 days climbing and 3 days snowboarding and it didnt stink when I got home.  Anyways I am done rambling.
