carb spacers ?
« on: January 03, 2008, 06:30:30 PM »
hey guys what is up?  I have seen several pics of cb750 and 550 that appear to have aluminum head side carb spacers  (spikeybike for one........engine stand pics for another).  Who makes these and are they worth it?    They would work the same way as a spacer on a healthy v8 right?

You mean the stock smaller 4's carb adapters?  The 550 at least did not have the carb boots bolt directly to the head like a cb750, these mounted to the adapters.  And 754's engine pics used the adapters to mount the Weber carbs instead of stock.  Any particular reason you're looking for these?

seen them on a few bikes....curious about any improvments in bottom end........i know i have a k2 motor (engine number verified) that pulls way harder and longer (starts pulling in the basement) than the original F1 motor i threw the primaries out of.  jsut curious.  thanks

Are you talking longer runners?? probably will give bottom end but cant run stock air filter, and other may hit the frame..

not that running no filters slowed me down much.. ;D

If you want gobs of bottom end and midrange..run Webers or Dellortos.. and I know of a cam that makes it even better..

Ram induction ?
My rig from Cycle-X does that, with Mikunis, sort of.
