76 cb750F frame with a 77 750K in it?
« on: January 02, 2008, 06:25:49 PM »
How compatible are these two bikes? I have a slightly bent 77 K frame (will have) that has all the parts and runs and a straight 76 F frame. I'm wondering if it would a waste to try and put all the pieces from the K on the F frame or if it would even be possible.

any thoughts would be appreciated!

I don't think there are any differences in the engine mounts on a SOHC CB750.  Any year sohc engine should fit any year sohc frame.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I would think you would have to swap the swing arm Mike.

77K has 17 inch rear wheel with drum brake and 630 chain 76 F has 18 inch with disc and 530 chain so easy way is to swap swing arms as said

side panel mounts may be different places and if pillion footrests are in different place you may have to fab exhaust bracketry.

otherwise should all fit

sounds like it shouldnt be too difficult. I appreciate the tips. I imagine getting a frame 'straightened' is not a cheap endeavor, yes?

It is a specialist job requiring a jig and lots of time. Costa abot £2-400 in UK so cheaper to use a different frame as long as it has a "title" to go with the chassis number
