Estate find Triumph

I bought this from the widow of the guy who bought it new on April 14, 1966.  He kept EVERY receipt (including the original bill of sale) and kept a meticulous record of repairs, etc.  The lady at the DMV let me keep the original title when I registered it.  ;D  It came with a nearly perfect original owners manual.  6050 miles on the clock.  I have to keep it on the 'other' side of the garage so the Hondas won't revolt. ;) ;)

don't know much about the bike but golley, that thing looks newer then new. all the chrome and aluminum is to a mirror finish.

In most circles, during the '60's the Triumph Bonneville was considered to be the best performing bike available.  Then Honda came out with the CB750 and the entire motorcycling world changed forever.

Nah, you can ask all you want.  It's just that I have to keep some things secret in case I decide to sell it someday. ;D
You know it had to be a real bargain for me to buy anything other than a Honda. 

The guy who owned it was a toolmaker in the aviation industry, and had the nicest and best equipped home workshop I have ever seen.  I wish I could have known him.

Wow! I had a 67 Bonnie in 1970. Memories. I chopped it and should have been skewered  :-[

I love those pipes. Hate the ones on the new Bonnies as they have a curve in them to raise the mufflers, not straight like yours. Gotta admit, I could scrape those mufflers pretty easily.

John, it isn't the dark side of you don't use the rear brake.  I remember my first ride on one of these(in 1968).  I was used to my Honda CL350 and every time I tried to stop, I changed gears, instead. ::)  I finally figured out if I used just the front brake I didn't look quite so uncool.  Boy, these things sure like to mark their parking area.  We've been pretty spoiled by Hondas that don't leak.  And,,, I still had a SOHC/Four in the garage the last time I looked, so It's not like I don't have reliable transportation, if I need it.

Makes my '67 look very "salty".
I may be inspired to fix it up.

Question:
Do you turn the ignition key clockwise to start ?

How about counter clockwise.

Mine starts both ways !
