Woohoo, it's STORMIN'
« on: January 04, 2008, 01:22:43 PM »
The first real storm of the season has hit here in California. Heavy rains and gusting winds blew in last night and by this morning there are rivers of water on nearly every roadway here in the SF Bay Area. Already there has been a couple mudslides that have closed a few of the commute roads through the Oakland/San Jose hills, and the upper deck of the Richmond/San Rafael bridge has been shut down due to a few big rigs getting blown over.

If you like storms, this is a wicked good one. Not a good day to be driving a car, but the bike knifed through the water like a champ and didn't get stuck in stopped traffic due to cars spinning out on the freeways. Thank goodness I invested in some new rain gear last month, dry as a bone ;) :)

Storm is due to blow through by tomorrow. Too bad, I'm kinda diggin' it :P

P.S.   everyone Northeast of the rockies, get ready for some snow.
Give me..a frame to build a bike on, and my imagination will build upon that frame

You would like it!!!, LMAOLMAO ;D ;D ;D

We only had two entire trees blown down out here in the Delta that I know of so far but there are branches ranging in size from half an inch to over 2 feet in diameter all over the place. The trailer park I live in sits right next to the levee and we were all blown around all night and most of the morning, didn't get much sleep, all the noise and branches crashing into our trailers, lucky none of the trailers got damaged. The anemometer showed the strongest gust reached a whopping 81 MPH, but mostly stayed between 50 and 65.

The t.v. said the winds would die off around 1:00 p.m. here, and they were only off by about 10 minutes. A little after one this afternoon the wind stopped as if someone threw a switch, rather eerie, lol.

I love a good storm. Kinda puts people in their places.

We had some sh1tty weather here along the I-25 corridor of Colorado too. 60 degrees and a beautiful blue sky. Yesterday, today and tomorrow. Got out for about 30 miles just to refresh my soul and lube the engine. Must have seen a dozen bikes in that short time. Probably get out tomorrow too just have to stay on this side (east) of the mountains. They are forecasting 1 to 3 feet just west of us. Not as good as the Sierras  :(  You just gotta love riding in the Rocky Mountain region in January  :)

It's been blowing at 25-47 kph here all night.

I like it until I have to visit the neighbors property or the beach for all my lawn furniture, ladders, barbecue covers, bike covers etc. that end up going missing. ;D

Be good beach combing tomorrow ;D
