bsa owner found room in his heart for a cb550
« on: June 10, 2009, 11:56:45 AM »

this is my second bike.
i learned on a 72 honda cb 350 twin.  i eventually sold it and bought the BSA.
my best friend is selling me his 76 cb550/4 and the more i visit this website, the more excited i am to get it.
i am going to make a cafe of it.
my aim will be to minimize the wiring and remove any unnecessary instruments/controls.
the bike is on "layaway".  i have it half paid off.  i owe him a few hundred more dollars.
he says i can have it now, but i've been enjoying the anticipation.

I like my women a little big. Natural. Now, they shave this and wax that. It's not right. I love natural women. Big women. This trend in women has to go. Bulomia, anorexia. That's just wrong. Welcome. We've got lots of information along the lines you're looking. You may wanna check out the member's gallery (see site home page) and the Bike of the Month winners thread if you want some inspiration. Personally, I can never find pictures in the gallery, but if you have any luck, check out some of the pictures of the cafe that Proteal did. I mention it because he did a sweet job of hiding the battery and wiring to create a really open look.

actually, shenanigans, who recommended this site to me has one of the nicest 550 cafes ive seen: <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/31800841@N05/3147210758/" title="First day done. by Hell for Rags, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3088/3147210758_4390d0857c.jpg" width="500" height="340" alt="First day done." />[/url]

he's given me some direction.  i think the hardest part will be figuring out the electrical scheme.  ill want to make sure whatever small battery i have will power what i need it to.

i plan on picking up the bike in july or august and doing most of the work over the dark winter in the garage.

thanks for the welcomes.

BSA's are purdy bikes.  My cous had one in the late 60's.  Welcome.
