Get a friend to give you a hand. It's much easier with two people! Make sure you have the cam chain cover off. Also it helps to remove the pan and oil pump. If there are exhaust studs that screw into the head, you might also want to get them unscrewed as well.

Get a extra set of hands to help you.  The last motor I pulled was with Sean we put a jack under the rear part of the motor to lift
the lower rear motor mount up and out of the way of the frame. The motor comes out of the frame on the right side as you are sitting on it.  Have fun.

I don't know what state the rest of the bike is in, but I have sometimes found it easier to roll over to a soft patch of grass, lay the bike on it's side and lift the frame off of the motor.  The more complete the bike is, the tougher this will obviously be.

I take tank and seat off with bike on centerstand or block. Put a milkcrate or wooden box to the right about same height as oil pan. Throw a towel or jeans over the frame where the tank sits, straddle the bike, put your chest on the frame and lift & move sideways... easy!!

reverse to install.. .. no helper either..

While you have it out, don't forget to file flat the top of the flange on the right lower engine bolt's mount. That flange can make it impossible to reinstall on some occasions! It almost always damages the "groove" across the bottom of the engine, where that long bolt goes through, on the way out.

When putting it back in: tilt up from the front slightly to start, then level out after the 1st exhaust pipe bolts are past the right frame downtube. Then go level to the next exhaust studs and tilt back up to clear them. The rest is cake.

If you did remove the oil pump and it's "crankcase" cover, protect that gasket surface on reinstallation or the frame can gouge it pretty nastily on reinstall. I always installed with the pump & pan installed, for that reason.

Because I support a lot of the weight with my chest I dont find that lip really getting in the way that much.

I can do it my self, but it does help to  have someone wayching or tyyo maybe pop a bolt in. Shimming up the motor so it does not drop lower when removing might help.

I  hang on to the  dyno cover with my left hand and kicker with the right.. Tilting it is not too bad as it is fairly balanced.

Havent done one for a long time though.. but I will real soon!

By myself, pan and pump off, standing at right side, right hand at dyno, left at kicker, right knee to steady at cyl head, chest on frame/seat. And BTW, I'm no weight lifter, just an out of shape, verging on GHOF. It wasn't easy, and I had help hauling this 175 lb baby to the workbench in the basement.

use two people at least or your gonna pay for it with a hernia..............doesn't matter how strong you are...the awkward angles you are forced to put your body in to finnagle the engine   out makes it so much easier with two people to skin their knuckles...and have a deserved beer afterwards.... imho....

I think Honda should have made the top frame section removable to allow for engine repairs without damage to the frame upon removal.

That's just me though.

IMHO,  two people are a must when pulling or installing any motor.  not for the easy factor, but more for the fact that its less likely to get one injured.

I have no experience pulling the motor, but I will, if I decide to find a way to swap in a 750 engine.

Don't think anyone mentioned directly to you that the cam cover will NOT come off the engine while in-frame.  Can't be done, at least not without first modifying your frame which I think you'd want to remove the engine for anyhow.

Perhaps he meant the "cam breather cover" which will come off in frame.....and makes it much easier to get engine out if take this off first.
