Newbie

Hello everybody, great place you have here! Currently living in the Smokies after 25 years living in southern England. I'm originally from here but moved away back in '80 with a new English wife. Back home for good! Have owned more Hondas than anything else, they always seem to appear at the right time for the right money. Blame my Dad, he started me out on an old Cushman scooter, had my first crash on the road at age 8. Wish I could say it was the only one!LOL! Current ride is a custom Harley (somebody has to ride 'em!) while I get the Honda ready. Bought a '71 CB350F with original title, one owner to fix up for $450, then found another through a work contact. Paid him $150 for that one, it has a new seat, good chrome and fair bodywork. The 1st bike has been hand painted matt black, rims and all, but it runs. The 2nd's motor is siezed, haven't had time to pull it apart. Favorite Honda was my CB400F Cafe racer in England. Built on a G5 frame (red), Yoshi tuned motor, 4 into 1, Meadspeed alloy tank, Suzuki fairing of unknown origin, Ace bars, RD400 suspension, brakes and wheels. I binned the fairing, it kept pinching my hands on full lock, besides being pig ugly. My first bike was a Black Bomber from '65, traded for a brand new '70 CB450. Planning on making the 350 a cafe racer when time and money allow. I work for a parts wholesalers and get employee discount, nice! Now if only I could find an OEM 4-4 exhaust (yeah right). My cans are rotted out and Mivvi wants over $650 just for the cans! Don't really want a MAC but will probably have to get one.
The worst thing is having to leave 25 years of OEM spares back in England. Had 2  sets of carbs and side covers for a 400/4 and boxes of other bits. I gave them to an old friend who wrenched for me, even tho he was a Ducati freak. Maybe he still has them? A buddy bought the 1st of the original 750/4 to be sold in Raleigh, yes, I had a go! Maybe I shouldn't have gone past that cop at warp 6, but by the time he got going I had returned the bike and warned my buddy to lie low. I don't think the cop got a good look at the bike, but better safe than sorry. Roll call:

CB250N
CB250T
CB400/4 (2)
CB550
CB450 (2)
CB650SC streetfighter (it had to be done, bike was engine, frame and wheels when I got it)
These are the ones that I remember, not counting other marques or dirt bikes.

Welcome tort, from Canada  :)

...Mac's not the only choice for exhaust for the lil' 350F. If you've got good head pipes you can buy aftermarket mufflers that are 4-2 from SITO. The other 4-1 system that I've seen is the Marshell Deep Tone. Looks like a quality unit but a little more dough than the Mac.
