Honda SS8 Fork Oil
« on: January 09, 2008, 09:03:54 AM »
I just pulled out my old fork seals and am about to put in some new ones (pro-moly leak proof). I stopped by my local shop and they only had the Honda SS8 fork oil in 5 or 10 weight. I bought the 10w. Has anyone ever used this stuff? Is it any good or are there any problems with it. I cant assume it is that big of a deal but just was wondering.

A lot of folks, including myself, use automatic transmission fluid.  But as far as fork oil goes, I prefer a lighter weight for a smoother ride.

I put the 10W in my CBR F4i - no problems at all.  I dont know how you can go wrong with OEM honda fluids.
