Original Honda CB750 John Wyatt
« on: February 14, 2008, 07:47:00 AM »
I originally posted asking about this book and the author John Wyatt.
I've done some research and have come up with some interesting info which leads to the reason for this post.
How many people would be interested in a new "Original Honda CB750" with added photo's and updated info for restoring

I would, provided it wasn't as pricey as it goes for these days on eBay.

I would. You know that he's still around at Rising Sun Restorations?

Is that the same one available on eBay in DVD?  I could not post it for some reason but the eBay item # is 280198259064.  The item is a buy it now for $19.95 from Canada.  Not sure if this is a pirate copy or if they acutally were sold in DVD format?  The listing will end in 4 hours from now and the picture below is from the eBay site.  But yes, I would be interested in it.

Yes, I am aware that John Wyatt is running Rising Sun restorations.
The new book would not be as expensive as the Amazon $180 used book.
John Wyatt owns the copyright so the PDF copy on Ebay is suspect.
I do know that if enough interest is shown it's very possible a new improved Origina Honda CB750 book
may be published.

I thought I would add a poll in case you are looking for a count in the end rather than having to tally replies yourself.

Too bad the author isn't interested in extending the life of this book. He could use one of the individual book publishing sites (e.g. Booksmart, etc.) and after setting it up, he could sell them a copy at a time without any up-front investment other than the set-up (assuming his still has access to the content including photos).

Has anyone contacted the author and told him how interested we all are for this book / DVD?  Maybe he does not even know the interest.  But if he is into the restoration I wonder if he will visit this site once and a while?  So who here knows him and can contact him?

John Wyatt visiting this site once in a while? He has been restoring bikes longer than I have lived, I doubt there is anything in the old Hondas he doesn't already know.

Actually, I have been talking to Mr. Wyatt and he has been thinking about an updated version of his book.
He owns the copyright and is concerned as to whether there would be enough demand to go ahead.
I offered to make some inquiries on the demand for a new version which is why I started this post.
It is not all that cheap to get a book into print and to make it saleable he would need to make new material available.
He is interested, the question is are there enough people interested in  SOHC CB 750's
