Thanks for your compliments; I love to ride this bike, it is like a time machine to my days repairing F4's.

Moved to another thread.

Having an issue with the Tachometer on the bike. Original was erratic so I sent it to CB750gauges.com for repair & renewal.

On return it initially would not register any RPM, after a short ride it started to run, but erratically.

I purchased & installed a new tach drive cable, no change.

Sent the tach back to CB750gauges, he reports the tachometer runs "perfectly".

Any Ideas as to what I should do next?

Thanks
Mark

How difficult is it to pull the tach gear? Could be an issue on the drive gear or cam driving the drive gear.
Have heard of issues like that on a Cx/GL500 but never on a CB motor, but you never know.
Can you take the cable loose and drive it from a drill? If it were an engagement issue at the tach end I would guess Marcel would see this too.

Mark, gorgeous restoration.
You are using a cb650 cam and 650 cam gear drive?

Has the bike been nominated for BOTM?

David

It is all original tach drive as far as I can tell.

Thanks. It has not been BOM nominated. I am not sure how that works.
