If that '77 CB550F is like that when you bought it, either it was very well kept, or restored. Very clean. Nice bike.

Verry nice, Pat, & welcome.  Great looking bike, that muffler is sweet, where'd you get it?  Is that a driving light on the front axle too?

I've been a devotee of this site for a few months, but I just discovered this thread, which gets a big thumbs up because I've owned my 550 for 37 years. This photo is as of today. Within a week I'll have a new OEM exhaust installed, which I'm salivating over already. Only thing I have planned beyond that is a dual front disc conversion. Bike is running GREAT.

Doc, very nice 550...you are going to make us do the math, eh...37 years...2011-37=1975
What exhaust is shown in the pictures? It doesn't look quite like a Mac system...whatever it is, it appears to be in good shape...as is the bike.  You've taken good care of it and it looks great...even if you've recently restored it.

The exhaust in the pictures above is indeed a Mac. It's now on the way to Australia and the 550 owned by Frostboy. Glad it's going to have a good home.

You were off by 1 year in your math, David. This is also a '74. I'd love to see some pictures of your project as well. I just put the 4 into 4 system (new)back on this weekend- pix below. I truly do love that sound, and the way the 4 pipes look from the rear. Also it's great that  now the bike is back to virtually full stock, which was my original goal.

Actually they have baffles. Need them for the back pressure.

The air box is off but I plan on putting it back... I just finished rebuilding with kl carb kits.

As a proud new dad to a '77 CB550K with 21K on the clock, I can finally be a part of this thread. I've also got a '78 on the path of restoration, so give me a 1.5 on CB550 ownership.

PS: How in the world do I get pictures into the post and not as an attachment???  ???
I'd like to think I am computer savvy so I am hoping it's related my Safari browser...
