Sorry to burst your bubble but that's a K model.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

This is an update.  I am number 32 on the list.  The old picture is on page 2.  I was never thrilled with the paint job.  It looked OK from across the parking lot, but the closer you got, the worse it looked.  The former owner had his brother paint it because he didn't like "that pukey green" original color.  He also installed ape hangers and a sissy bar!  I removed the sissy bar, along with a homemade (ugly) luggage rack and the ape hangers.  I was able to find a nice pair of original bars.  Pulling 35 year old wires out and then back through these handlebars is great fun.

Anyway, my friend and coworker painted the tank and side covers for me this spring.  Here is a pic of the results:

Very nice, I've actually been considering a very similar color for my 76....it looks great.

Officially mine 1975 cb550. Bike came from PA with Michigan title. Rebuilt top end because of stuck piston, Refreshed some cosmetics.  Transferred to CA title was a breeze with help from AAA

Sweet!  Welcome m13!
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

m13,
Does your bike have the original 500 engine in it?  If it does then it answers a question I've had for some time now.  Did Honda use the 550 transmission on the K3 CB500/4's?  Your bike does not have the K0-K2 clutch.  The K2 was the last CB500/4 for the US market.

In the US, there were only three models of Cb500.  71 - K0, 72 - K1, and 73 - K2.  In 74 the Cb550 was introduced as a K0, and incrementing yearly thereafter until the last model K3 in 1977 and "unofficially" the K4 in 1978.

No US model CB500 used the Cb550's transmission/clutch arrangement.  There was a European model of CB500, which was a CB500 K3.  This was a Cb550 engine in every way apart from the smaller pistons/cylinders, and it had the same trans/clutch as the CB550 of similar years of production.  They would only be found in the US via a personal/individual importation.

R.I.P.

A Driver failed to yield and took us both out.  I'll eventually walk again but there isn't much left of the Honda that isn't bent or broken....except the tail light I had just replaced the week before.

1976 Honda CB550F (9,000 original miles)

This is how I found her this fall in a neighbors garage.

She looked a lot worse than what she really was.....just needed a good deep cleaning, a new seat and front fender.  The carbs were gumbed up really bad but were salvageable as well as the front brake caliper.
