Unfortunately they are rotted on the bottom. All 4. Going to have to change them out but can't justify dropping a grand. Probably going the Carpy route.

Too bad, the stock pipes look great on the bike.
I think you will be happier with the pipes from MotoGPworks directly as they are stainless and have the spring loaded header design allowing you to dismount them without disturbing the gaskets as every oil change they have to be dropped for clearance to remove the pipe... Gets to be a pain with the Carpy pipe unless you do a remote filter kit.
Motad makes a replacement set of 4-1 and there are a few other makes.
The Carpy/MotoGP pipe isn't proven to be better on dyno, but it sounds nice and looks good. While the stainless pipe is more $ it is worth it. Ask those that have them...
Plus you will get better support from Chris at MotoGP than Carpy I think.
There is a company in the Netherlands that makes a nice set of pipes and they have a great tone. I think they make them for the 550 too. Ron in Indiana, MCRider, picked up a set for his 750 and they have a nice deep throaty tone that isn't too loud.
Loud pipes wear on you when traveling I think, the noise just increases your fatigue, studies support that viewpoint...
I picked up a set of 4-2 for my 550 that were made in Japan. Not sure who made them, they are chromed and nicely made. Probably old stock from years ago. Picked them up from another member a few years ago. I expect them to be a little louder than the stock pipes.
