First CB... glad to be here :) It's a 1976 Cb550K... just tossed on some clubman bars and swapped a standard seat in place of the K/Q seat it had on it. Carbs are out right now in a sonic cleaner... rebuild kits are on the way. Should be back on the road by Friday :)

I got that tail light from cyclexchange.net.   It's non-led which is what i wanted and looks great on the chopped fender. Inexpensive too.
My name is Joe and i have been riding motorcycles since i was 18. Two years ago i had some engine trouble with my 79' Malibu and my friend VwDan (yes, the same from this forum) loaned me his cb450 for a week. I fell in love with the bike and picked up a sweet 77' cb550. The end. Ride safe!

Ken at Cycle X is a real fan of the SOHC's.  If you order something from him, be sure to mention this forum.

i am so down with brown.
i think that sun-faded metal-flake brown could be my favorite cb color.
that or maybe the green.   ...maybe red.    sh!t, i love em all!
don't take me too seriously.

So, I've had it for a month.  Thanks to Honda Man, my 1977 CB550K now lives. :)  Still has a few little issues to fix, but its rideable.

Here is a pic from my phone while I was broken down on the side of the road.  Hopefully I'll get a chance to really get out and ride it and get some good shots in the near future.

Also; I need to do away with those godawful elephant ears on my bar-ends.  Anyone know some good looking, round bar-end mirrors?

Another one for the registry. This is my 1976 CB550K. This was the day I bought it (last July). I've just put new Spitfires on it and fixed a nagging sticky caliper. A little more engine work and then I'll clean off the rust.

Here's my '77 CB550k3, just picked it up, spent all weekend cleaning it up after it sat for a couple of years, under a cover, was pretty crusty.  Will be getting a seat cover off eBay. Carbs were rebuilt by a buddy of mine before it sat.  They need a good cleaning & I need to find intake boots that go between the carbs & air box & should be good to go!

as I found it:

as it sits now:

Welcome to the forum/madness Patrickw9!  WOW! original pipes in good shape, original side covers, paint looks fairly decent... You can prolly get the seat recovered to look original and you'll have quite a gem there!
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

Thanks, been lurking around for many years since I had my '76 400f & gained a lot of info from the fourum as well as the email list (R.I.P.).  Seat cover I found on eBay should look good enough & your right the pipes & side covers are in very good shape, motor/frame is still a bit crusty, but when I have a running bike I ride year 'round, it really doesn't rain as much here is Seattle as you hear-Patrick
