New here, CB500 project
« on: January 11, 2008, 11:04:28 AM »
Whats up guys, my name is zack. heres my CB500 that my uncle gave me about 2 years ago, its a 1972 CB500 with around 4300 original miles on the tach. I know it sounds wayyy to low but theres a story behind it...to make it short, my uncle and his friend bought brand new matching bikes, one day on a ride, a lady pulled out in front of him and his friend, he stopped/avoided but his buddy didnt. He died and my uncle parked the bike in the garage and never road it again. Eventually i got rid of my CBR600 Hurricane and asked him if i could have the bike, now its mine!

I have a MAC 4-1 header/exhaust system, a Dyna electronic ignition and Dyna coils w/wires, some clip on handle bars i found in a junkyard and a custom rear seat setup(which has to go!) All the paint/chrome is original so far.

Those have to be the most radical clip-ons I've ever seen on a 500!

It must be agony to ride (?)

yea in the first pics i had them really low for that drag bike look, but once i actually started riding it on a regulat basis i had to raise them, i cant put them above the clamp because they hit the gauges(which ill be removing whenever i get the bike here, its in my dads barn right now)

yea im die hard honda...first car was a CRX, then a CIVIC, now i have an S2000. for bikes i had an old Elsinore 50, XR100R, R250R, CBR600, then the CB500 and hope to get a CB750 or a build an RC30 replica
