Um....lemme see
6 spare 750 motors
1 350f motor
2 almost complete parts 750's
3 almost complete 550's for parts
Stock handle bars for 750's and 550's
1 78 750f3 frame and oil tank
Spare f3 swingarm w/comstar wheel and disc.
Stack o' brake rotors
Set of 4-4's for 750 and 550
some tanks,side covers and fenders
Some other misc parts boxed up, with the boxes in stacks, labeled with their respective bikes.
I figure if I'm going to keep 'em going for the next 40 years, I need parts.....sooo...I've got parts coming out of my ears, and I'm still looking...  ;D

I would love to see some pictures of the Corgi paratrooper. Where did you get it? Are there still many around? Do you keep the original storage case?

Back to the original question, I used to keep some spares, but I realized it's useless. Some of them never wear, some of them are "restaurable" -paint, weld, etc-, and some of them, the wear parts like points, pads etc, are and probably be available.

It's pointless to spend money and space in storing parts. You will never need all of them; it is easier to save the money and, when you need any part, offer double that the market price in that moment. You will get anything you need and still save money. Most of the "free to a good home" parts are parts that people bought in the past "just in case" and found out that if they didn't need them after 10 years, they will probably never need them.

The corgi is pretty bad ,corrosion got the cyl head and piston.. it is just green!! The guy said it was probably under the scrap pile and it was for 20 years or more. I dont know if I have seen a comple one.. also exist as an Indian Papoose!

Yeah storing cost money and can be a pIT..like finding stuff.. but its nice to just be able to grab another assembly and run it istead of buying and waiting..

I have bought many parts for my CB350 twin. Some of them because they were in better shape than mine, some others because were cheap, and some others just to combine shipping. The same goes with the Sanglas, my modern GZ250 etc. I have four gas tanks, two seats, two sets of shocks, engine sidecovers, headlight shell, tranny, crankshaft, camshaft etc. I have even been unable to throw away some used oil seals. I just put the parts in boxes, planning to some day sort them. I spent three days just getting everything out and sorting them -electrics in one box, engine parts in other boxes, etc-, and even when I planned to picture every single part and then rename the file with the part number -so I could always know which parts did I have, what the shape was and in which box was it store-, I got so fed up that I simply pictures lots of parts together with a small letter indicating the box they were going to, so if I need something I will have to browse through the pictures and then search in the box. In any case, for engine parts I will probably go Honda first, and keep the parts as a backup. Probably in 10 years they will end up in the "free to a good home" section. I don't even have storage space, I'm using my mom's cellar.
