I paid a visit today to my local Honda dealer in Ontario with parts list in hand to compare prices between a well known dealer in Ohio; Western Hills Honda/Yamaha (WHHY)and my local dealer for various engine parts for the 350F.
I chose WHHY as a comparison since they seemed to have about the best prices stateside, and they were much better than Bike Bandit.
Well, it turns out that my dealer was almost excatly even with WHHY, within a dollar or two on $50+ parts, and within a few cents on $5 parts. Some parts such as the cam chain were $23 cheaper at $42 compared to 65$ from WHHY. With shipping and cross border duties I will come out ahead ordering from the local dealer. Not to mention supporting local economy.
The reason I'm so floored about this is the local dealer's were almost always way more here, than stateside and it seems prices have come around recently. I think Honda part prices are probably pretty uniform across Canada so this phenomena probably streches coast to coast.
Cheers, Matt.
